A wonderful find for a Disney collector or if you want something very special for your nursery. Included is 2 VINTAGE DISNEY COURVOISIER MULTIPLANE CELL PAINTING WYNKEN BLYNKEN & NOD #10 and #6
These "multiplane" paintings were produced by the Courvoisier Gallery in San Francisco. Produced for the release of Bambi.
Walt Disney Wynken, Blynken and Nod Multiplane Painting #6 and #10 (Courvoisier, c. 1940s). A beautiful little three-dimensional piece created with two painted pieces of glass and a painted background in a shadowbox-style wooden frame, with the Courvoisier label on the back. The glass planes add a unique depth to the picture. Disney Studios were using a multi-plane camera during this time. The imager area measures approximately 6" x 5.75", framed to an overall 8.75" x 8.25".
The vintage frame has some wear and small dent in the bottom of #6 (pictured) but is in good condition and still displays well #10 has a tear in the back and I believe as a result got a dust ball in the bottom left in between the glass. A professional could remove the back and remove the dust. It is not directly visible as displayed.
There has only ever been one owner. My grandparents living in Oakland, Ca purchased these in San Francisco for their nursery in the early 50s. They have been a beloved piece of Disney history!
We would like to keep the pair together at this time.
