C. 1920'S-1940'S 103 MAGICIAN'S BUSINESS CARD COLLECTION VINTAGE

Description

Offered is a c.1920’s to c.1940’s collection of 103 (all different) business or trade cards of magicians. By way of example, there are cards of an illusionist, a “professor” of the Society of American Magicians, a sleight of hand artist, a “talkative trixster”, a Komic Komedy Konjurer, a musical saw artist, the Wizard of the Jungle, etc. etc. Some of the cards are charmingly illustrated and are on color stock. Others have black lettering only on white stock. The places from which these magicians hail is quite diverse, but primarily within the United States. These appear to have been saved in a scrapbook since there are residual scrapbook “pulls” or paper remnants on the backs of most of the cards. An “amazing” collection of magician memorabilia and perhaps the last evidence of the existence of a few of these mystical entertainers.

Condition: The condition of the 103 cards varies considerably. Some have writing on them, many have stains or some discoloration—some have creases etc. As mentioned, most of the cards have marks or paper on their blank backs indicating they had had been glued to a scrapbook.
