Description

Offered is a c.1920’s, 40pp., paper wrapper Spiegel’s Christmas catalog. The cover features a great color image of Santa Claus with him reading a copy of this very catalog. There is a wonderfully illustrated bag of toys with a toy elephant, doll, horn, train etc. The cover verso has a color advertisement for a radio. A full page of Spiegel’s terms follows accompanied by a black and white Santa illustration. The pages following describe, illustrate, and price hundreds of items including children’s toys, watches, record players, lamps, furniture, shoes, and clothes. The back cover has a color advertisement for the Melrose Neutrodyme radio.
Size: 7.5" X 10.75"
Condition: Very good, with an old vertical fold and a 1/4 inch deep (or less) “bite” of missing paper in the white (unprinted space) at the middle of the bottom edge affecting pages after page 11.
