    Description

Celtic 1/8th Gold Stater, High Quality Gold With Certification. Shipped with USPS First Class Package.
It's a pretty little gold 1/8th stater of 1.01 grams, in high quality gold. I'll try to test it when I get some fresh test fluid, but I'd guess it's 20K or better.
That doesn't matter so much. The weight of gold is very low relative to the collector value.
But it means, it's more rare than the "debased" ones.  Everyone kept adding more and more silver, to cheat a little.
The rarer the better on eBay. They aren't making more of these!  But they sure are making more children who want pretty things.
The design is worn down as you can see.
But it's still impressive!  At the time I listed this, there were none I could find, in this quality of gold.
In my notes I have this written, from the time of purchase:
1/8 celtic gold stater, .99gt, Bee or Wasp, E. Poland or Czech republic, Sm, Castelin 1143.
Better write that down, if you buy it.  It's side information they weren't willing to certify, but which is likely true.
Yep, it's a bee or wasp. You can see that in the pics. I'd guess bee, as a tribute to honey from which they made beer.
Castelin refers to a coin catalog that shows it. It's likely British since these are found all over Europe.  I couldn't find that catalog on google.
I also have a "Certificate of Authenticity" from Carolco Jewels, Coins and Collectables, Lewisville, Texas.  A.N.A. Member 211168.
If you google Castelin 1143 some Greek coins will come up.
The Celts were all over the place. Especially in Greece.
As I recall, queen Boudica herself fought a battle or two over there.  But this coin was hundreds of years before her time.
