    Description

1929 printed promotional advertising letter from the Curtiss Flying Service, Bowman Field, Louisville, Kentucky, for their "Curtiss-Wright Ground School".
1 pg., approx. 8-1/2" x 11", with "Curtiss Flying Service" letterhead and red & black illustration of the Curtiss logo, with head on view of a plane.
Includes the original envelope, with Nov. 22, 1929 Louisville, KY postmark, locally addressed.
Note that the letterhead is of "Curtiss Flying Service", while the letter is promoting Curtiss-Wright Flying Service - this is because the Curtiss-Wright Company had only been organized a few months earlier, and the old letterheads were still being used from Bowman Field.

    .
A scarce early aviation item from the first year of existence of the Curtiss-Wright company.
