Isamu Noguchi created AKARI, a lighting sculpture made from high-quality Japanese paper, by world-famous sculptor Isamu Noguchi.
As a result of Isamu Noguchi's encounter with Gifu's traditional lantern industry, in 1967 Isamu Noguchi created a lighting sculpture called "AKARI".
Isamu Noguchi's works are beautiful crafts (designer lighting) unique to Japan that have been revived in the modern age.
Isamu Noguchi's designer lights are widely used in homes and stores around the world, including Japan's Good Design Awards and the New York Museum of Modern Art collection.
