One of the most unique Disney collectibles you will ever own. This is an original not a reproduction.
The card, produced in Belgium in the 1930s, was one of a set of about 60 trading cards featuring Mickey Mouse performing various fun activities. The activity is featured in both the French and Dutch language.
The card itself, which measures about 1” x 2”, was meticulously set into an all wood triple matted frame with overall dimensions of 3-1/2” x 4-5/8”. To accomplish this required extraordinarily detailed hand work.
This card, in English, is ‘Mickey Is Happy’. The back of the card features the words ‘CHOCOLATERIE RUBIS VERVIERS’ which translates to Chocolate Factory.
While it’s possible to find some of these cards available as ‘graded’ trading cards on the web you will not find this artwork.
If you are looking for something 'Mickey Mouse' (no pun intended) that is close to one-of-a-kind this is a must have piece of Disneyana in your collection.
