Mickey Mouse w/ Gun - 1956 Printing Plate & Page !

This is a rare piece of comic history very seldom offered as very few remain in existence today. This was uncovered in a warehouse over 25 years ago.  This is a vintage printing plate for Mickey Mouse issue 47 pg 13 from 1956. I have paired the original printing plate with the matching comic page actually printed from this very plate  50+ years ago to make one of the most unique collectibles that you will ever find! A real collection centerpiece for any Disney or Mickey Mouse fan or collector. It features classic Disney artwork and pictures Mickey and Goofy. Unlike many annimation cells that you find produced in quantity in the 1990's, this is a vintage one-of-a-kind piece of American comic history.
NOTE: The unique characteristic of this particular printing plate is that Mickey Mouse is pictured brandishing a handgun while trying to protect Goofy. While this may have been accepted in the mid 1950's, it is not an image that Disney characters would promote today.
I have framed and matted this "museum quality" piece. Note that the photo does not show the chrome frame that is included in the price. Also note that this is a "posed photo" so that the actual matting cut-outs may not match the printing plate, comic page, or engraved plaque as shown in this photo. This will be custom made for this exact page before shipping. Only one printing plate was made for each comic page and normally these were melted down after the comic was printed. The press plate has the issue and page number engraved along the border. This is one of only very few to have survived the melting pot. This printing process is no longer used today so no more will ever be made. Overall size is approx 14" x 18" framed.
