ll of the art work and collectibles being sold by Adams-Byrd Fine Art & Antiques have been collected and selected one at a time by the proprietor, an art historian with many years of training and experience in university art history departments, museums, galleries, and historic sites both in the U.S. and abroad.  The business has been based in the Washington, D.C. area for many years.   The art and collectibles that we are offering to eBay buyers are special and unique pieces that have been carefully “curated” by us.
This dramatic floral English bone china cup and saucer features multicolor flowers and flourishes on white --- with gold accents.
For many years (in fact, since 1875), the ROSINA fine bone china company has been manufacturing cups and saucers in a huge variety of patterns.
This elegant and distinctive pattern -- with shiny gold trim -- is bold and pretty!
The dominant color is a lovely medium dark blue (a dark “cornflower” ? blue).
There are also “touches” of green, yellow and purple.
It is in good used condition; it has been displayed on a shelf for years.
There are a few faint surface scratches on the center of the saucer ---- so perhaps it was once used for tea – before it became a “display” piece.
Along one 3” long section of the saucer’s rim, the gold accent is less uniform/solid.
We cannot tell for sure if this is how it was made or if it is worn ----- but it appears to have been made that way.      [[Also read the PLEASE NOTE section below for more "condition" information.]]
The saucer is 5 ¾” in diameter.
The cup is under 3” in diameter at the rim – and 4” across at the handle.
The cup is 2 ¾” tall at the rim – and under 3 ½” tall at the handle.
On both the bottom of the cup and the saucer the crown and rose logo is surrounded by ---

***** PLEASE NOTE that on the “loop” of the gold handle there are some surface irregularities from when it was made.
One little spot “pokes” your finger when you hold it, so ---- although the cup and saucer can be used ---- we think they are better as “display” pieces in a collection of unique English bone china teacups and saucers.
