This powerful, professional-level SB1116 South Bend 21" Gearhead Drill Press features a cross slide table with longitudinal and vertical power feed, plus all the precision and high-end capability you need to put out your best work.
It is equipped with a variable-speed 3-phase motor with inverter that runs on single-phase, 220V power, which gives you greater speed ranges with a lower amp draw.
The variable speed range between 0–2500 RPM is controlled by spindle speed dial and a high/low spindle speed lever. Low RPM speed is vital to drilling metal.
Geared drill presses are designed for drilling larger holes than belt driven machines thanks to the spindle bearings and tighter tolerances.
The spindle is fully reversible, features both coarse and fine downfeed controls, and a depth stop for repeatable production.
Additional features, such as a digital spindle speed readout on the headstock and a clutch-engaged downfeed function make this gearhead drill press top of its class in design and functionality.

This item ships via truck freight. The trucking company will call you to arrange for curbside delivery. Your delivery address must be accessible by tractor-trailer. We estimate, but cannot guarantee, delivery in 3 to 5 business days. If tracking your order on the carrier’s website, ignore any estimated delivery dates as these are often incorrect.
What If I Need Help Unloading And Moving My Freight To My Shop? Do You Offer Any Extra Delivery Services?
Your delivery address must be accessible by tractor-trailer and you are still responsible for moving the freight from your curbside to your shop.
Some freight terminals are equipped to offer additional services - such as moving the freight into your shop or garage for you - on a limited basis for an additional charge. None of the carriers we work with will move freight up or down stairs. I Work Full Time And There Is No One Home To Receive My Freight Delivery. What Are My Options?
Freight is delivered on weekdays during normal business hours. Many customers find it more convenient to arrange to pick up at the carrier's terminal or to have their orders shipped to their work address or to a friend who can be home to accept delivery during the day. Since it is your responsibility to unload your freight from the truck and to inspect your freight to be sure you receive the right number of boxes in good condition, someone must be present at the time of delivery.
