VERSION II: SmartFlow URINE DIVERTER Separator for Dry Composting Toilet DIY

VERSION II of the SmartFlow Diverter. If your DIY composting toilet plans don't include a 1-Gallon Jug for the urine container, you may be thinking toward a diverter hose set-up. This Version is perfect for that method. Simply screw on a regular water hose OR  a hose of your choice in addition to the included 5/8" barbed adapter. Dimensions of Black Diverter: 4.5" H x 11" W x 6" D.  Included in sale are stainless steel mounting screws, and a swivel EUD hose adapter with 5/8" barb size (NOT shown in photos above.) Also included are two 8-gallon compostable bags, and two 8-gallon non-compostable bags to use with your solids bucket along with information on where you can purchase more bags.
*****A SQUARE solids bucket will work much better that a standard 5-gallon ROUND bucket with the SmartFlow because it allows more room for the 1-gallon urine container in front. I recommend you purchase a Sterilite 7.5 Gallon Waste Container/ Trash Bin (J Base) from your local Walmart and trim off 1-2 inches all around the top. In the front, trim an additional 3 inches off where the diverter is. This will allow the diverter to overlap the front of the solids bin by an inch and still have room for the gallon urine container.
*****One final important note: Avoid purchasing any of the diverter types where the posterior portion does not extend straight across, from side to side. These types greatly complicate your DIY toilet design since there will be a LARGE TRIANGULAR GAP remaining on both the right and left side, between the diverter, toilet seat, and solids bag.
