*Up for sale here is a very rare western milk bottle from the state of Nevada, which I have not seen around before. It is from the tiny town of Dyer, Nevada, located in the Fish Lake Valley in Esmeralda County. It lies near the old mining ghost town of Silver Peak, Nevada. This tall round pyro quart is in near mint shape. Bottle is sparkling clean and has seen no wear. See all the pictures, as they tell the best story. The crisp red acl pyro front and back is excellent.
*It boldly reads on the front ~
"SILVER PEAK / DAIRY / DYER, NEVADA". On the base it is embossed ~ "32 <0> 0", for the 1940 date. Bottle was made at the Los Angeles, California Owens-Illinois glass plant during this time. On the back it shows a steep mountain peak with the sun rising behind it. It reads below the peak ~ "SWEET PURE DELICIOUS / SILVER PEAK DAIRY". The bottle is filled with white filler to accent the red pyro, and topped off with a generic milk cap. This example from the west measures 9 1/2 inches tall, and 3 3/4 inches in diameter. You will be well pleased with this piece of western dairy milk bottle and mining history.
