VINTAGE German Theodolite Survey Transit original dovetailed wood case.Both the instrument and box are marked "Leo Ross - Berlin W9".  Truly a gorgeous, and extremely heavy instrument. All adjustments, and leveling features work perfectly. Both focus knobs (for crosshatch alignment, and object/distance focusing) work perfectly. Optics are mostly clear, with just a little dust, fuzz along one edge. Still completely usable!  Box contains one small allen wrench, and the original threaded tripod mount, with a hook for attaching a plumb bob.
This is truly a unique item, from mid-century Germany. It would work well as a demonstration tool, or just look great sitting on a shelf, or attached to a tripod as a conversation piece.
Outer storage box measures 10 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 5".
