Vintage Surveying Transit Builder’s Level with Case.
Offered for sale is a functional David White model 8114 transit with plumb, line, and elevation marker. The transit telescope itself focuses and retains its original crosshairs. Eyepiece adjusts as needed for parallax. Two-window bubble level functions as designed. All four brass leveling screws turn and tighten nicely. All brass knobs turn and lock including the horizontal lock, horizontal fine control and focus wheel. Horizontal ring and 5-minute double folded vernier scale turn as designed. It’s set up on a 3 ½” x 8 threads-per-inch inch base. Case shows significant wear, but continues to transport and protect this cool vintage precision instrument. Shipping fee accommodates the weight and bulk of this all-brass and metal Transit.
Needs a good cleaning.
