Walt Disney Story Illustrator T HEE Long Beak Tropical Birds (6) Ruff Sketches
Historic Walt Disney Studio Auctions by Saturday's Toys presents...
an series of six original inspirational sketches of long-billed tropical birds... possibly from one of T. Hee's greeting card projects of the 1940's... as drawn by T. Hee (Thornton Hee; 1911 - 1988) during his era at the Walt Disney Studio (1941 - 1946).
The birds are drawn in various sizes; apparent test sketches for a fully realized character such in the larger, more finished bird on lower half of page.
    T. Hee was among the most talented artists to emerge at the Walt Disney Studio since talented European illustrator Albert Hurter arrived in the 1930's.
Drawing are captured on a small paper measuring 4.75" x 6.25"; hand-drawn in blue pencil, graphite, and black grease pencil; by a master of caricature animation... T. Hee.  Some aging noted to vintage paper used for the sketches.
As previously offered through the services of Bonham's Los Angeles (Sunset Blvd); as one of the lots offered with "Entertainment Memorabilia Auction Including Animation Art" on Sunday, May 5, 2013; from the personal career archive of T. Hee.

    Saturday’s Toys and Disneyana Auctions
was founded in 1994 by Southern California author and Disney historian, Dave Mason. Soon after eBay's launch the following year, Saturday's Toys was among the first Disneyana specialists to strategize in embracing this rapidly developing technology. Having delivered over 10,000 coveted Disney treasures since then, Saturday's Toys is pleased to partner with researchers, collectors and friends throughout the world with a shared interest in the preservation of authentic and accurate Disney history.
Today, online offerings of archival Disneyana keepsakes are presented in celebration of the extended times that allow for family, friends and neighbors to join in memorable gatherings that nurture the strong connections that bind a community together. These treasures are affectionately known as "Saturday's Toys." In that light we present our adopted motto (with a tip of the cap to the Sherman Brothers):
"Oh, let's go fly a kite!"
